Painted Black Etc is a furniture painting company. We are an environmentally conscious company that focuses on reusing current household items like furniture and cabinetry to create affordable room transformations.

We do this by converting furnishings from old to new and kitchens from blah to fab. We do custom art work for furniture and small alterations and repairs. We also have affiliates with upholstering locally.

OUR STORY

"My Grandparents were entrepreneurs, my parents are super creative, it only seemed natural to take on a path that follows in their footsteps."
Growing up our home environment was constantly under design make-over. My mom is super creative and definitly "a la mode" with her interior decorating skills. My parents have most of the same furniture in their house that they have had since they were newly wed nearly 40 years ago. To the naked eye, you would never guess it though! It was my mom who taugth me how to paint furniture.I suppose the itch to be my own boss started years ago, I decided against the traditional methods of earning a living in my early twenties when I discovered that a desk job was not fulfilling my artisitc side. After achieving two diplomas and a degree I was still aching to be an artist again.So, I took what I knew about painting furniture and what I knew about business and I ran with it.To most people this might seem a very impulsive move. But to understand my heritage will shed some light on this decision. You see, my grandparents raised 9 children, as entrepreneurs. Not in the text book sense, but rather doing what they had to do to earn a living. They owned their own businesses, had rental units and also worked for the governement. Needless to say, they worked hard for their money. My Grandfather was mister fix it, and mister "make do with what you have or what you can find". So it is easy to understand that my mom came by this trait honestly...as did I. So combined with my natural instinct to want to create and my heritage, Painted Black Etc was born.

Take your current anitque piece, or your faded or drowned out old piece and transform it with a new coat of paint.We use Benjamin Moore Eco friendly paints and finishes to ensure that we are having the least amount of impact on the environment as possible.
If you have always wanted a new kitchen but have not had the time to do it yourself, or the budget to buy it new, this is the best transformation. We will paint your cabinets, replace your hardware and retile or redo your backsplash.
Painted Black Etc is proud of our affiliates locally. We offer upholstering at no increased cost to you. Have your chairs' wood accents painted by us then we will bring it to our upholsterer. You just need to chose your fabric and they will take it from there!
